Night Light Lounge

I have always loved creating things, anything really, and depending on the medium, some things turn out better than others.  I grew up watching my mom dress like a fashionista (in the best sense of the word) and decorating a house better than any person I know.  I learned visual beauty from watching her and at a young age decided to attempt creating some of this beauty myself.

 

Needless to say, taking what you see in your mind and turning it into tangible form does not always work out the way you want it to and can be intensely frustrating:  this is why I flourish so well with my window art.  These particular pieces are a great way for me to express my imagination, creativity and personality in a flexible (and smaller) medium than others that I have worked with in the past.

 

I am obviously a very visual person, and often times I find all things around me to be beautiful, unique and intriguing.  My current pieces allow me to capture such images, and put them together in ways that complement each other all the while keeping a fun attitude:  that's what I am about; enjoying life, having fun and never ever settling for the mediocre.

Dan Buzdor was brought into this world in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and has suffered from a profound sense of wonder ever since. After graduating college with a degree that has nothing to do with art, he moved to the Tucson Arizona to learn to paint. His time spent in the desert was a mystical experience; it uncorked the visions that had been locked inside. Currently living in NE Portland he spends as much time as possible in his studio conjuring up new imagery.  This show is focused on the idea of emergence. Small things that don’t seem that smart emerge into amazing organisms that are greater than the sum of their parts. There is definitely something profound going on here, and painting may help shed some light on it.
