"I connect with an object or a view through painting it. There is a reality around me, my view of the world. I drink in the visual and want to show in paint how I absorb it. A moment of striking lighting, the feel of a sun drenched afternoon or a cloudy winter. With the rise and fall of the sun I watch colors change on objects, building and walls. As the day progresses there are infinite opportunities to capture the newness of the beauty sitting before me. I choose to paint from life whenever possible, for every time I paint an object, I feel closer to it. The visceral connection that is made after hours of viewing and recording life is where I draw the most satisfaction. All the things I have collected, objects I use in every day life, views I see, and the walls I live within are reflections of me. They are my comfort and my reality. We each create our own worlds we nestle into. This is mine, and this is how I capture it. Pictures taken through my eyes, painted on canvas, recording moments in my life."
